Which social media platforms are marketers and agencies paying to advertise on the most?

To find out, Hanapin Marketing conducted a survey in April and May 2018 with 430 marketers who work for brands and agencies in the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Facebook is the most popular social network with over 88% of those surveyed saying they spend advertising budget on the platform. Instagram is the next most popular network, followed by LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter.

Facebook is also the social platform that the most marketers plan to spend advertising dollars in over the next year: Some 66% of those surveyed say they plan to increase their spend on the platform in the next 12 months.

Marketers are also increasing ad spends on YouTube (38% plan to increase in the next 12 months), Instagram (28%), and LinkedIn (24%).

50% of those surveyed say they plan to pitch spending more on Facebook in the next 12 months, and 47% plan to pitch spending on YouTube.
